We have a rotation of speakers for our services. Our minister, Will Darcangelo, typically speaks at two services per month. Sedruola Maruska and Deborah Demazure each speak once per month.

Wil Darcangelo - Our Minister
Wil Darcangelo, Minister, has served First Parish of Fitchburg since 2014. He holds a Master of Divinity, a Master of Arts in Global Interreligious Leadership, and a Certificate in Pastoral Care, all of which he received from Andover Newton Theological School. In 2019, he also became Minister of the First Church of Lancaster and the two became sister congregations at that time, sharing events, best practices, friendship, and occasional services together. Wil is also a weekly columnist, writing a column and blog, called Hopeful Thinking, on optimistic spirituality for the Information Age, and creates online content based on the same on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok (@wildarcangelo). In addition, he is a carpenter, a stained glass artist, musician, and community advocate. He lives in Fitchburg with his husband Jamie Darcangelo. They have a grown daughter Lavender, who lives in Leominster.

Sedruola Maruska is the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity at Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Massachusetts, host of the award-winning podcast Diversity Dish, a speaker and aspiring author. Prior to her current position, Sedruola was a business consultant in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion where she helped organizations identify and address areas of inequity and bias. She’s a graduate of Andrews University, a former Conversational English teacher, Corporate Trainer, and Executive Assistant. Her passion is helping navigate and build cultures based on equity and inclusion in the lives and communities she serves.
Sedruola Maruska has served as the inaugural Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Kennedy Community Health since January of 2023. Her journey toward affecting positive change began in January 2017 after realizing it was time to embark on an intentional life journey to help educate and empower others on issues of social justice. Sedruola is a first-generation Haitian American, wife, and mother who prides herself on having an amazing extended family and friend network and being a citizen of the world born in Queens, New York.

Deborah Demazure has worked for 30 years as a professional alternative healthcare practitioner. In various church communities she has served as a Sunday school teacher and a Sunday school superintendent. Additionally, in recent years, she has been a regular guest speaker at several area Unitarian Universalist churches. Deborah holds a BA in Communications, a BS in Natural Health, as well as a certificates in Massage Therapy from New England Institute of Whole Health, and in Health Coaching from the Primal Health Institute. Deborah’s real strength lies in her insatiable curiosity and study of all things holistic and holy, and in her ability to communicate what she has learned to others.
